Camp Info

ONLINE REGISTRATION

All campers must register online.  Campers must make a $200.00 credit card deposit when they complete their online registration.  Balance payments may be paid by credit card online or by check.  There are no transaction fees for credit card payments.  The online registration process and credit card transactions are secure.

Facilities

The Virginia Soccer Camp of Champions utilizes the exact same facilities on which the UVA varsity programs train.  Instructional sessions and match play are conducted on the grounds of the University of Virginia at the same facilities used by the University of Virginia Men's Soccer Program.  

Residential & Commuter Options

Participants have the option of attending as commuters [day only campers] or as residents [full live-in campers].  Residential campers reside in dorm rooms and are under the supervision of Virginia Soccer Camp of Champions staff.  Commuters are actively involved in all aspects of the camp, but are dropped off and picked up from camp on a daily basis.

Locations

The Virginia Soccer Camp of Champions is held in Charlottesville, Virginia, in the foothills of the Blue Ridge mountains on the idyllic grounds of Thomas Jefferson's University of Virginia.

Charlottesville is easily accessed via interstate highway, and is conveniently located between three metropolitan areas: Washington DC [118 miles], Richmond [65 miles] and Roanoke [125 miles].

Ages

The soccer camp is for players who are age 10 through high school seniors.

July 13-July 16, 2008

Lodging

Resident (live-in) campers will be housed in air conditioned dormitories located on the grounds of the University of Virginia.  Each dormitory rooms has a telephone.  If you wish to room with a particular person, you can request a single roommate when completing your online registration.  Roommate requests are not honored until full payment has been made and all required registration paperwork had been received.

Fees

Resident fees (live -in camper) of $575.00 include room, meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner) and two camp t-shirts.

Commuter (day camper) fees of $515.00 include meals (lunch and dinner) and two camp t-shirts.

In order to avoid a $25.00 late fee, full payment must be made on or before June 1st.  All registrations after June 1st will automatically be assessed a $25.00 late fee.

Registrations are initiated using our online registration system by clicking on the APPLY button located on this website.  A $200.00 credit card deposit is required.  There are no charges for using your credit card and all transactions are secure.  Balance payments may be made by credit card online or by check.

Discounts

Yes, when two or more siblings from the same family complete their online registrations at the same time, the second and third (if applicable) sibling will be provided a $20.00 discount.  You are charged the full fee for the first camper and then you are provided a $20.00 discount for each sibling.

Goalkeeper Training

The Virginia Soccer Camp of Champions offers comprehensive and rigorous instruction in technical, tactical, physical and mental facets of goalkeeping.

Camp Lounge

Our camper lounges provide many international and UVA college games for players to watch in the evenings.  In addition, there is a camp store located in the camp lounge where campers can purchase snacks, drinks, pizza, soccer balls, t-shirts and other apparel.

Coaching/Supervision

Both staff coaches and counselors reside in the dormitories with campers.  Campers are closely monitored and obligated to attend all sessions and meals.

Transportation

Cosmopolitan Travel will be handling all air travel needs for the Virginia Soccer of Champions.

Ball Requirement

All campers are required to have a soccer ball. If you would like to purchase our camp ball, you may do so on the first day of camp at registration check-in.  PLEASE NOTE THAT IF YOU PAY IN FULL BEFORE APRIL 1st, YOU WILL RECEIVE A FREE CAMP BALL.  THE FREE CAMP BALLS ARE DISTRIBUTED TO CAMPERS AT REGISTRATION CHECK-IN.

Check In/Check Out

Registration check-in starts at 12:30 pm and ends at 2:00 pm on the first day of camp. Closing ceremonies are conducted at 11:00 am on the final day of camp.

Supervision

The Virginia Soccer Camp of Champions provides a ratio of approximately 1 counselor/coach to every 12 campers. Attendance is taken prior to each session and during daily suite meetings.  The daily suite meetings provide an opportunity for counselors to closely monitor and interact with campers.

Meals

Campers eat all meals at the new Runk Dining Hall at UVa.

Deposit

A nonrefundable credit card deposit of $200.00 is required when you complete your online registration.  Full payment must be made on or before June 1st.

NOTE: In case of lost luggage, if traveling by air, campers should pack a carry on bag. At a minimum, camper should carry on medications, toiletry items, money, soccer shoes, soccer ball, shin guards, shorts, t-shirts and other essential items.

Camp Schedule

Campers typically have time to relax for an hour or so every afternoon.  Campers can relax in their air conditioned dorm or visit our camp store where we always have video entertainment.

DAMAGES/LOST DORM/SUITE KEYS

In the event your child/ward damages any University of Virginia property, you will be charged for all costs.  In the event your child/ward misplaces or loses his dorm/suite key, you will be responsible for the $150.00 key replacement fee.
